Spooner Spotlight: Hawaiʻi Wildlife Fund

Hawaiʻi's nature and wildlife are among our most unique attributes and serve as the inspiration for many of our prints. For the release of our Honu Laki collection, we wanted to give back to an organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the native flora and fauna of our islands. We are honored and excited to partner with the Hawaiʻi Wildlife Fund (HWF) to support the incredible work they do to keep Hawai'i alive and wild.

Founded in 1996 by two former National Marine Fisheries Service scientists, HWF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of Hawaiʻi's native wildlife through research, advocacy, and education.

For the last 25 years, Hawaiʻi Wildlife Fund has been dedicated to protecting native wildlife in Hawaiʻi – including Hawaiian green sea turtles, hawksbill sea turtles, dolphins, whales, monk seals, and many other species that call these islands home. Through active monitoring and restoration projects, HWF protects sea turtle nesting areas and ensures the safety of baby turtles after hatch as they venture into the ocean.

HWF has teamed up with NOAA's Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary and Brookfield Properties to open an incredible new discovery center in Whaler's Village on Maui. With over 30 exhibits on undersea life, including an immersive experience, this is a resource to help understand how to respect native wildlife while simultaneously gaining a deeper appreciation for the islands.
